“You no longer book Rudy Giuliani”, Joe Biden Sends Letter to Every Major T.V. Network Demanding Giuliani Be Kept Off The Airwaves
Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden had his campaign staff send a letter to news executives of major T.V. networks demanding they stop hosting President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Guliani, on their networks.
“We write today with grave concern that you continue to book Rudy Giuliani on your air to spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on the behalf of Donald Trump,” said in the letter by Team Biden. Anita Dunn and Kate Bedingfeild were the two Biden advisors who wrote the letter and addressed the news networks, according to The Hill.
“He tried to resurrect the argument that Vice President Biden’s anti-corruption work in the Ukraine was intended to benefit his son (Hunter Biden), when every single independent news outlet has reported that the Vice President Biden was advancing the foreign policy goals of the United States government, European Union, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and more by pushing to oust a prosecutor who was known to be corrupt,” written in the third paragraph of the letter.
According to The Daily Beast, the major T.V. news network who received the letter were NBC President Noah Oppenheim, CNN President Jeff Zucker, CBS News President Susan Zirinsky and also included hosts like, NBC’s Chuck Todd, Fox News’ Chris Wallace, and CNN’s Jake Tapper.
“Rudy Giuliani has made clear time and again, that he will lie on television, often contradicting himself multiple times over the course of one answer,” the letter stated. “He’s certainly not introducing new facts, since his relationship with the truth is casual at best.”
This all comes after the whistleblower complaint accusing Trump of asking a foreign leader of state for information on a domestic political opponent.
“I have received information from multiple U.S. Government officials that the President of the United States is using the power of his office to solicit interference from a foreign country in the 2020 U.S. election,” stated in the complaint by the unidentified whistleblower. “The President’s personal lawyer, Mr. Giuliani, is a central figure in this effort,” the whistleblower stated.
“I’m not investigating Joe Biden, I fell upon Joe Biden in investigating how the Ukrainians were conspiring with the Hillary Clinton campaign to turn over dirty information, including in which something the Ukrainians have already been convicted,” said Giuliani on Sunday on an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.” Giuliani also appeared on CBS News “Face the Nation,” to answer questions regarding the July phone call that occurred between Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“This morning on CBS, he attacked the credibility of the former Ukranian prosecutor on whom he has previously staked most of his harebrained case against Biden when the prosecutor said definitely he believed there was nothing here to investigate,” the letter stated.
In Biden’s letter to T.V. networks demanding Giuliani not to be given any airtime, it also suggested that the journalists on these networks haven’t fact-checked Giuliani during interviews regarding Joe Biden, his son and his alleged involvement in corruption with the Ukranian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings.
“While you often fact check his statements in real time during your discussions, that is no longer enough,” the letter states. “By giving him your airtime, you are allowing him to introduce increasingly unhinged, unfounded and desperate lies into national television.”
“Think of the Biden arrogance and entitlement to protection, they believe they own the media and they are demanding that they silence me,” tweeted Giuliani on Sunday. “They know I have incriminating facts, not hearsay, because they know what they did in selling Joe’s office to a Ukranian crook.”
No information has emerged whether these T.V. networks will obey Biden’s campaign request on Giuliani. Biden has been the frontrunner since he announced his candidacy, but with the recent news of the whistleblower complaint time, it’s too soon to see if it will have a negative affect with voters.
