LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are heading to the NBA finals after a phenomenal performance on Saturday night against the Denver Nuggets. This NBA Finals appearance will be the first for the Lakers since 2010 when the late, great Kobe Bryant led them to their 16th NBA championship, over the Boston Celtics.

LeBron James will be making his tenth NBA Finals appearance after he finished the night with a triple double and closed the series out in fantastic fashion. James ended the game with 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists and celebrated the victory that led his team one step closer to another championship.

The players celebrated together, but wished they could do so with their fans in Los Angeles as well.

“I wish we were in Staples Center tonight with our fans, with our Laker faithful. They deserve this.” James said after receiving the Western Conference championship trophy.

Although James and the Lakers were ecstatic about another series win, they knew there was still a lot of work to be done. The media was quick to ask James how he feels to make yet another NBA Finals appearance.

“One step closer to the goal. Job not done” James responded, for he and the entire Lakers organization know that the ultimate goal is to win the NBA Championship.

The Lakers will face the Miami Heat, who won the Eastern Conference Championship on Sunday night, in the NBA Finals. The two teams will face off on Wednesday night at 6:00 PM PST.
