Biden to Visit Texas and Accelerate Federal Funds for Relief
Texas is reeling from a major winter storm and President Joe Biden plans to visit next week. He said the visit will only take place if the state is on the road to recovery.
“The answer is yes,” Biden said about a visit to the Lone Star State. “But I don’t want to be a burden. When the president lands in a city in America it has a long tail.”
Originally, Biden and his team planned to arrive in Texas in the middle of the week but a new date will likely be announced Monday. The president did not say which city he would be visiting.

MAJOR DISASTER DECLARATION
Biden also said he plans to sign a declaration of a major disaster for Texas which would enable federal funds to support relief efforts.
He has asked the Federal Emergency Management Agency to rush the request for disaster relief.
“I’m going to sign [that] declaration once that’s in front of me” which “God-willing will bring relief to a lot of Texans,” Biden said.
